Traveling in Thailand

The following research explores current online conversations on traveling in Thailand with the purpose of determining best approaches to people interested in the topic and engage with them. The overarching goal is to provide conclusive information for companies, organisations and policy makers who want to attract people to Thailand. We conducted preliminary literature research, used Netlytics for data scraping, Gephi for data visualisation and Atlas for netnography. We found that Twitter is better for informative content and building networks with influencers that are well connected. Gaining influence on Instagram on another hand is best done through endorsement from travel bloggers. From our netnography research, we also found an increasing awareness for responsible tourism as evidenced by oppositions against elephant riding.
